 Modern transport infrastructure of Kyiv, which was approved in the 60’s of previous century, doesn’t stand up to the “challenges” of modern times.
Thus road network density in Kyiv is 2.3 km/km2, whereas in Moscow it is 4.4, in London 9.9, in Paris 15, in New-York it is more than 12 km/km2.

According to the draft of the new city development strategy up to 2025, Kyiv will develop focusing on the central-eastern European capitals such as Warsaw, Prague and Budapest.

Urban transport infrastructure has fast developed since 2010-2011, although “according to the UEFA assessment, Ukraine needs 30 years for road construction. However, in my opinion, Ukraine will have roads with quality like in Eastern-European countries in the next 10 years”— The Vice-Prime minister, the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Boris Kolesnikov claimed at the briefing dated 8 September 2011.

New bridges will significantly help to relieve metropolitan busy roads. Developers of transport scheme are concerned about Kyiv bridges across the river Dnipro. More than 300,000 cars go across 4 bridges every day. This leads to the situation, when the coefficient of overload of automobile bridges equals 3 (without the Southern bridge), whereas the norm equals 0.7. Taking this into account, the total number of the bridges should be 11.

In our employees’ opinion, the problem of comfort and sufficient number of capital roads will be solved with the help of proper planning of road construction and reconstruction, new approaches and technologies, sufficient public funding, strict control over the expenditure, technical supervision of construction and usage of roads. The most important thing is the responsibility of the specialists of all levels for performed work.
The opinion of our employees is based on the fact that the level of taken decisions in the project and their detailed study will determine the custom qualities of future road.

This approach is the most important in development of ongoing projects which are performed by our Institute:
- the three-level interchange near Paton bridge on the right bank,
- construction of flyover at the intersection of Naberezhne highway and Dnieper descent,
- construction of interchange at Poshtova square,
- construction of the access road from Chervonozorianyi Avenue to the International Airport "Kiev" (Juliani),
- construction of road interchange at the intersection of Nauky Avenue and Stolychne highway
- reconstruction of Bazhana Avenue and Peremohy Avenue,
- construction of transport tunnels
